Tulsa Fall Fling 2007

What a great weekend! Full of good dancing, good music, and good friends!

We had a good-sized group representing Swing Springfield show up and dance this weekend! I am certain everyone was able to get their fix of west coast swing. Whether you did or not, I expect to see everyone out dancing at swing night out at Trolley’s!

There were many great workshops taught this weekend. In spite of the small size of the event, attendance was really nice and you won't find much better people to hang around with than swing dancers. They had some of our favorite west coast swing professionals, like Jeanne DeGeyter, Will Carlton, Stevie Young, Austin Murrey, and Doug Rousar. All the professional demonstrations were incredible, but by far the best show this weekend had to be Doug Rousar dancing with Chelsea to Thriller! It wasn't even part of the showcase, it was just so cool, no one else could even take the dance floor because everyone was mesmerized. Trust me, you watch some of these professionals on the dance floor, and you can’t help but be inspired and amazed at what can be done with west coast swing.

Looking forward to seeing everyone this weekend at Swing Springfield's regular wednesday night swing night out at Trolley's. We'll do west coast swing classes again this coming week. Keep an eye out in the future, because we also plan to offer classes in east coast swing, hustle, lindy hop, and nightclub sway. In spite of the class on any given week, there’s always a mix of swing dancing afterward. So, for good company, good music, and good dancing, you have to come join us at Trolley’s!

New people are always welcome to take advantage of our classes, plus remember that we always do a half hour class on just basics at 7pm, to make sure that everyone has a chance to no only learn the basics, but help reinforce your knowledge and comfort level with your basic technique. Plus, there’s a lot of good advice that we try to pass on so that everyone can really enjoy the fun and adventure of social swing dancing.
